What Are The Advantages Of Using A Gas Grill?

!±8± What Are The Advantages Of Using A Gas Grill?

Some people will choose to have a charcoal grill in a second, hoping to look like a serious griller in the process. What they do not realize however is that using and just having a charcoal grill entails a lot of hassles, which only the true grilling jockeys can manage to keep up with. Nevertheless, it does not mean that you cannot grill. You just have to choose something that fits you.

And what is that? The classic gas grill. Many household have this one because it is more convenient to use compared to the charcoal grill. Even serious grillers have a charcoal grill and another grill that uses gas or propane. It may cost a bit higher than a charcoal grill but then you won't have to deal with so much mess and processes.

Hardcore charcoal grill fans may say that gas grilling will not make your food smell or taste authentic, but many people say the taste between charcoal grilled food and gas type of grilled food do not really vary. Some people may even like gas grilled food more because they do not find the smoky smell of charcoal pleasant. Aside from those mentioned, here are the other important advantages of using a gas type of grill.

Convenience

The best selling point a gas type of grill could possibly boast of (that is, if it can boast) lies on the convenience it gives to its user. Starting up a gas type of grill is very easy; you just turn the knob on and then it will light the flame and begin warming the cooking surface. With a charcoal grill, you have to pile the charcoal briquettes, add some lighter fluid, light them up and check on them every now and then to make sure the flame does not die down.

On the other hand, most gas grills today have a thermometer as well as a knob to turn the gas up and down, making it easier for you to be able to cook any kind of food. You also don't need to monitor the grill as the temperature remains constant and will not "die down" or cool down unless you adjust the grill. Even older children can use the gas grill.

Controlled temperature

As said in the first advantage, one of the selling points of gas type of grill is the convenience it gives and that convenience roots from its ability to give off and maintain a constant temperature while you are cooking. The built in thermometer helps you know what exactly is the temperature, which helps you in cooking different kinds of foods. You don't have to guess the temperature, like you did when you used the charcoal grill.

Heat is also easier to regulate when you are using a grill. With a charcoal grill, to regulate heat means to add more or remove charcoal briquettes. On the other hand, with a propane gas grill, you can increase or decrease the heat (according to the food you are cooking) by just turning a knob or button specifically added for the task.

Cleanup - a breeze

A very nice advantage of using a grill is that cleaning up after cooking is really easy. You do not have to wait long after you have finished cooking just to clean up because gas type of grills can cool down in a relatively short period of time. After waiting for it to cool down, you can now remove the grill rack or whatever that needs cleaning.

With a charcoal grill, not only does it take a lot longer period of time to cool down, it also leaves a lot of mess. It will take longer to cool down because you have to wait for the burnt charcoal briquettes to completely cool down, which can take several hours. Also, a lot of ashes will be left behind in the area after cooking so aside from cleaning the grill rack, you also have to clean the area itself.

Best choice for portable grills

Portable grills are very convenient especially if you and your family (or friends) are fond of going to the beach or going on camping trips. A portable grill can either use propane gas or charcoal. It is much advisable to choose a gas grill because then, you will only have to bring the grill and the little propane tank. If you choose a portable charcoal grill, you will have to bring with you the grill, lighter fluid, and a bag of charcoal briquettes. Also, you don't want leaving a mess on the area, do you?
